摘  要:In this talk, we will first describe some interesting and important phenomena of implosion. The examples and videos from material science, civil engineering, and astronomy will be given. Then we show the bifurcation patterns and then how to use the powerful software LS-DYNA to model the implosion phenomemon. Our work is capable of capturing certain important patterns of implosion by comparisons with benchmarks. The work is currently ongoing. This work should help the design of submersibles working in deep ocean and improve their crashworthiness and survivability of the craft.

报告人简介： Goong Chen教授本科毕业于台湾国立清华大学，硕士、博士毕业于美国威斯康辛大学，从1987年开始，他开始作为终身教授任教于美国、法国、加拿大、丹麦、新加坡、中国台湾国立清华大学等各高校，现任美国德克萨斯农工大学数学和航天航空系教授。Goong Chen教授的研究范围非常广泛，包括偏微分方程的控制理论、振动力学、量子计算、分子量子力学、混沌及大规模科学计算与建模。Goong Chen教授著作丰富，迄今为止，已经发表各种科研论文150余篇，这些科研论文基本上都发表在国际各种顶级期刊上；出版专著10余部；获取资助超过800万美元；受邀做各种学术报告200余次。曾获 AIAA（American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics）最佳论文奖；Texas A&M University-Qatar 最佳研究团队奖；Qatar 国家著名研究团队奖；美国 Patent 官方奖。他是美国数学学会会士（AMS），美国工业与应用数学学会会士（SIAM），世界著名学术期刊《Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications》（该杂志是JCR 一区杂志）主编，控制论顶级期刊《SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization》杂志副主编，也是著名杂志《Internation Journal on Quantum Information》、《Physica Scripta》以及《Electronic Journal of Differential Equations》杂志的编委。
