摘  要:In this talk, we survey some recent results on the motion of a liquid with free surface boundary. Specifically, we will cover the incompressible limit for the motion of a compressible liquid with or without surface tension. We prove that the motion of a compressible free-boundary liquid with large sound speed can be “well-approximated” by that of an incompressible free-boundary liquid. This requires a delicate energy estimate that is uniform as the sound speed goes to infinity.

报告人简介Chenyun Luo is an Assistant Professor (NTT) at Vanderbilt University. He received his Ph.D. in 2017 from Johns Hopkins University supervised by Hans Lindblad. Chenyun's research lies in the realm of PDE; in particular, he studies free-boundary problems arise from fluid dynamics.
