摘  要: In this talk, we introduce some important and fundamental topics in global Finsler geometry and discuss the related properties and the relationships in them. In particular, we optimize and improve the various definitions of Lie derivatives on Finsler manifolds. We also characterize the gradient vector fields  and obtain a gradient estimate for any smooth function on a Randers manifold.

报告人简介：程新跃，重庆师范大学数学科学学院二级教授、数学研究所所长，博士，博士生导师，重庆市学术技术带头人。

研究领域为整体微分几何及几何分析，主要研究方向包括黎曼-芬斯勒几何、流形上的分析、信息几何学。已在包括<<Journal of London Mathematical Society>>, << Israel Journal of Mathematics >>，<<SCIENCE CHINA Mathematics >>, <<Annals of Global Analysis and Geometry>>,<<Results in Mathematics>>等国际重要学术期刊在内的学术期刊上发表论文90余篇；与著名美籍华人数学家沈忠民合著的学术专著<< Finsler Geometry-- An Approach via Randers Spaces >>由德国Springer出版社与科学出版社联合出版。

近年来，先后主持国家自然科学基金项目六项；作为项目负责人获2010年度重庆市自然科学奖二等奖一项。
