摘要:In this talk, we consider the manpower optimization problem for a manufacturing companywith a hierarchy system ofMlevels. We take both the manufacturing plant workers and managerial staffinto account. The aim of the problem is to minimize the total human resource cost at the end of the timehorizon, while maximizing the total output. The problem is subject to a series of chance constraints, for whichthe number of staff operating in each level is ensured to satisfy the minimum number requirement with aspecified probability. This manpower optimization problem can naturally formulated as a stochastic discrete-time optimal control problem. We then show that this stochastic optimal control problem is equivalent toa deterministic optimal control problem. It is further shown that the deterministic optimal control problemcan be reduced to an equivalent linear programming problem, which can be solved very efficiently by usingthe interior-point algorithm. Finally, we conclude the paper with numerical simulations using real data from Singapore, Denmark and China.
报告人简介:现为澳大利亚Curtin University(科廷大学)John Curtin杰出贡献教授。1998年至2005年任香港理工大学应用数学系的首席教授和系主任。2005年至2010年任科廷大学数学与统计学系主任,首席教授。张教授主要从事最优控制、鲁棒控制理论与应用和通讯信号处理等方面的工作,在运筹学以及优化算法方面有着很深的学术造诣,出版英文专著5本,发表高水平和高影响的学术论文五百余篇,应邀作过许多重要的学术报告,得到了国际学术界的高度认可,并作为大会主席组织了多个专题国际学术大会。张教授现任三个国际杂志Journal ofIndustrial and Management Optimization、Dynamics ofContinuous, Discrete and Impulsive Systems, Series B和NumericalAlgebra, Control and Optimization的主编,并是Automatica, Journal of Global Optimization等十余个杂志的编委。
