摘要：Triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMSs) are fantastic geometric objects that combine the beauty of bubble films and crystals.  Because of their ubiquitous appearence in natural sciences, physicists and chemists made significant contributions since the 1970's, while mathematicians fall far behind to provide rigorous treatment ... until recently.  In my talk, I will review this interdisciplinary history, as well as recent mathematical progress on the topic.  In particular, many new examples have been discovered recently, bringing new hope to an ultimate classification for all TPMSs of genus 3.
