摘要：Diophantine Approximation, Fractal Geometry, and the study of Shrinking Targets, are three important, and at first sight seemingly unrelated, areas of mathematics. During these lectures I will survey these topics and discuss some problems that lie at their intersection.

报告人简介： Simon Baker 博士，英国拉夫堡大学senior lecture。博士毕业于英国曼彻斯特大学，后在荷兰乌特勒支大学、英国雷丁大学、英国华威大学做博士后。主要研究方向：分形几何、动力系统和度量数论。在Memoris AMS, Adv. Math., Math. Ann., Trans. AMS, IMRN, Israel J. Math.等期刊发表论文40余篇。
